Gran Premio New York City

GFNY World Championship NYC
17 May 2026
GFNY Puerto Rico is bringing you an exciting route that celebrates the best of the south of the island, combining sea, countryside, history and charm. The adventure begins and ends at the iconic Hotel Ponce Hilton, a perfect meeting point facing the Caribbean Sea.
From the start, you will head towards Santiago de los Caballeros Avenue, quickly connecting with the Ponce Bypass (PR-2 East), a wide and fast road that crosses the heart of the city. Here, you will pass by one of GFNY Puerto Rico's main sponsors, Flagship Mazda/Volkswagen, just before joining the PR-1, where the real journey to the southeast of Puerto Rico begins.
Once on the PR-1, the peloton will roll in front of the Merceditas de Ponce International Airport, a symbol of the city's connection with the world. Later, the landscape transforms with the imposing windmills of Santa Isabel, a reflection of the region's commitment to renewable energies.
The course splits in Santa Isabel, with medium route riders turn left for a u-turn to return back along PR-1 to the Hilton Ponce Hotel, while the long route riders continue straight to continue their challenge.
On the long route, you will enjoy open views and the charm of Salinas Beach, with its salty breeze and Caribbean atmosphere. The route then enters the Barrio La Plena connecting with the communities of Cimarrona and Villodas de Guayama, surrounded by gentle hills and rural roads full of history. At km 40, you will start a 15km-long gradual climb from sea level, reaching to the highest peak of the course (cima coppi) at 174 masl. The climb averages 1% and has a maximum 4.8% in the lower portion, with the last 4km having a maximum incline of 7.5%. After, you will get some rest on the descent for 7.5km as you ride back to the coast.
From there, you will head to the majestic Legado Golf Resort, an oasis and one of the most picturesque moments of the route. The return is made by the PR-3, bordering the coast again until linking back with the PR-1, completing the loop and then heading to the Ponce Hilton.
Along the way, you will find multiple hydration and support stations, with technical and medical assistance to ensure a safe and memorable experience.
The course presents a living postcard of the beauty, history and hospitality of southern Puerto Rico. This route promises emotions, unforgettable views and a deep connection with the Puerto Rican essence.
